Far graver than Vietnam
Former head of the NSA calls the present situation in Iraq "...far graver than Vietnam. There wasn't as much at stake strategically, though in both cases we mindlessly went ahead with the war that was not constructive for US aims. But now we're in a region far more volatile, and we're in much worse shape with our allies." Reported in the Guardian.
All I hear these days is talk about Iraq and the upcoming election.....some newsworthy items are being largely ignored by the media's lust for all things Middle East.
So I will due my duty and spread the sad news no one seems to care about - we will not have any hockey (ice hockey to you Yankees out there) this fall :( Many Canadians are in mourning and will be at a loss on Saturday nights when we all look forward to Don Cherry and Hockey Night in Canada. Maybe we should have full-contact curling to hold us over :)
Did anyone ever read my comments on Farenheit 9/11 ???
You should post a new entry if you want to more explicitly solicit feedback on a topic, as with a blog a person has to be extremely diligent to try to find past comments added to old articles and more than likely comments can go unnoticed.
I'll look into adding a "recent comments" section on the main page, that would help a little bit, but still if something goes unnoticed you need to make a new entry. Then when people comment on your entry you'll get an email about it!
Why is Canada not having hockey?
Hey Matt - let me know how to post a new comment....I don't see any option when I look.
As far as the NHL goes - the players union and the league are in a battle over revunues. The league wants to have a salary cap and the players and owners do not. What else is new....this has happened with all major sports.
